McQuade Heating & Cooling Plumbing & Refrigeration
“We’ve used McQuade for years, and they’ve always been so great. Professional, respectful of your home, honest, and they can typically address issues in a timely manner. I’ve been happy with all of the techs I have met - Patrick was just out for my AC maintenance and he was so knowledgeable, explained everything to me in detail and gave some really great recommendations for things to keep my units running at their best.
Ben has been out a number of times to diagnose and repair issues I’ve had with my furnace in the past, he was also super helpful and friendly. All of the techs have been great and overall have never had a bad experience with them. Highly recommend!”

Do I need maintenance on my furnace, AC every year?
Yes, proper yearly maintenance is important to ensure factory warranty coverage, proper operation, and optimum lifespan of your heating and cooling equipment. McQuade Heating and Cooling, Plumbing and Refrigeration recommends you set up a maintenance appointment for your AC in the Spring or Summer. McQuade Heating and Cooling, Plumbing and Refrigeration recommends you set up a maintenance appointment for your furnace or boiler in the Fall or Winter. Not only does annual maintenance extend the life of your equipment, but also, it allows us to identify any problems that need to be addressed before they turn into larger issues. Call our office to ask about our Energy Savings Agreement (ESA) that includes a cost savings to the customer. The ESA includes one AC maintenance appointment in Spring/Summer, and one furnace maintenance or boiler maintenance appointment in Fall/Winter.
How long does the average system last?
The lifespan of your heating and cooling equipment can vary. On average, a typical furnace or air conditioner can last 15-20 years. With annual maintenance your equipment will provide many years of reliable service. When your HVAC equipment needs to be replaced, please contact McQuade Heating and Cooling, Plumbing and Refrigeration to schedule an appointment for a free quote. Please call our office at 888-I-DO-COOL (436-2665) for additional information or to schedule an appointment.
Should the fan be set to ON or AUTO on the thermostat?
The AUTO setting means your fan will run only when your system is heating or cooling the air. The ON setting will continuously blow air , even when the HVAC system is not heating or cooling air.
How often should I have my furnace serviced?
McQuade Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing recommends a professional furnace maintenance once per year, ideally in the fall before the heating season begins. Annual furnace maintenance may help improve energy efficiency, reduce heating costs, prevent equipment breakdowns, and extend the lifespan of your heating system. Regular furnace maintenance helps to ensure safe operation and may prevent carbon monoxide issues.
What are signs my furnace needs repair?
Common signs you may need furnace repair include:
• Cold air blowing from vents
• Uneven heating throughout your home
• Strange noises like banging or rattling
• Frequent cycling on and off
If you notice any of these issues, it’s best to schedule professional furnace repair as soon as possible to avoid a complete equipment breakdown.
How long does a furnace usually last?
The lifespan of your heating and cooling equipment can vary. On average, furnaces can last 15–20 years with proper maintenance. If your furnace is over 15 years old, requires frequent repairs, or is no longer heating efficiently, it may be time to consider a furnace replacement or new heating system installation. Contact McQuade Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing for additional information or to schedule a free quote.
